Offer & Angle Grid: 30 Angles Mapped to Offers and Audiences
Thirty creative angles mapped to offer type, audience temperature and the metric each angle should move — a testing grid, not a brainstorm list.
An angle is not a hook and it is not an offer — it is the reason this viewer should care about this offer today. This grid maps 30 angles to offer types, audience temperature and the metric each one should move, so every test changes one axis at a time instead of paraphrasing the last ad.
Angle, offer and audience are three axes, not one idea
Most ‘new ads’ are the same angle with a new first line. An angle is the frame (pain, proof, identity, mechanism, deal). An offer is the commercial object (percent off, bundle, trial, guarantee, gift-with-purchase). Audience temperature is how much they already know you. Changing the hook copy while leaving all three axes the same is not a test — it is a paraphrase. The grid below forces a choice on each axis: pick the angle, lock the offer it fits, lock the temperature, then write the hook. If two variants share the same three tags, delete one before you spend.
Each angle has a job metric, not a vibe
Pain and pattern-interrupt angles are judged first on hook rate (3-second view). Proof and myth-bust angles are judged on hold through the proof beat (usually 50%+ viewed). Deal and scarcity angles are judged on CTR and ATC, not on hook — a weak hook with a loud discount still wastes the discount. Identity angles are judged on CTR quality (CVR after the click), because they filter. If you only look at CPA, you will kill a cold pain angle that is doing its job (cheap attention) and scale a deal angle that is harvesting warm demand you already paid to create. Tag every test with the metric in the row.
Offers are not interchangeable decorations
A 20% off code on a cold mechanism angle trains the audience to wait. A free gift on a warm proof angle usually lifts AOV without training discount dependence. A trial or starter kit belongs on cold fit angles (‘is this for me’) because it lowers the identity risk. A strong guarantee belongs after proof, on warm and hot, not as the first sentence to strangers. Match the commercial object to the temperature: cold = lower commitment or clearer fit; warm = value architecture (bundle, cost-per-use); hot = friction-kill (shipping, deadline that is real). Wrong offer on a good angle is still a failed test.
How to run the grid as a batch
Pick 6 angles, 2 offers, 1 temperature per sprint — 12 cells, not 30 ads. Fill the cells that the grid marks as a fit; skip the grey mismatches (for example cold + hard countdown). Produce one 15–30s cut per cell, same product, same landing page. Klip Kanvas can generate the 12 cuts from one product URL so the only variables are angle and offer line. Read the tagged metric on day 3–4; do not crown a winner on CPA until the job metric has moved. Promote the cell, not the ‘favourite hook’.
30 angles in 5 families — pain, proof, offer-mechanics, identity, mechanism — plus a temperature × offer pairing table. Each row is a lookup: offer fit · audience temperature · job metric · hook frame, so a batch is 12 cells, not 30 paraphrases.
