Product-URL-to-Ad QA Checklist
Pass/fail QA for URL-to-ad generation: scrape fidelity, claims and price match, image/B-roll use, avatar and voice, captions and specs, and the landing-page gate before you spend.
A product URL can become a 15s ad in minutes. It can also become a confident lie: wrong price, scraped hype, a face that does not match the SKU, a CTA to a sold-out PDP. This checklist is the pass/fail gate between generate and spend — numbers, not a playback on laptop speakers.
The scrape is a draft, not the ad
URL-to-ad tools pull title, bullets, price, images and sometimes reviews. That payload is a brief, not a claim you are allowed to speak. Marketing copy on a PDP is written for a page that also has disclaimers, variants and a returns policy; a 15s voiceover has none of that room. If the scraper ingested ‘clinically proven’, ‘guaranteed’, or a star rating with twelve reviews, the file will say it with a straight face. QA starts on the payload: product name, SKU, price, shipping promise, and every adjective that will be spoken or burned in. Anything the page cannot legally stand behind gets stripped before render, not after the buyer falls in love with the hook. Generation speed is the feature; unsupervised copy is the failure mode.
Match is a three-way join: file, page, offer
The ad, the first screen of the landing page, and the checkout offer have to be the same product, same price, same promise. A serum ad that lands on a collection grid is not a creative test. A $39 hook that checks out at $49 is not a creative test. A 9:16 demo of SKU A that clicks through to SKU B in a different scent is not a creative test. URL-to-ad makes this class of error more common because the generator is literal about whatever URL you pasted, including leftover UTM, regional domains, or a bestseller that is out of stock. The locked rows treat offer match, inventory, and first-screen match as launch blockers — not as notes for later. If the page cannot convert a warm click, no avatar will save the CPA.
Spec still fails even when the script is true
Generated files still have to clear the same mechanical bar as a human shoot: 1080 on the short edge, correct ratio for the placement, captions readable and out of the UI, first frame not a black card, loudness in a spoken band, faces and type out of the top and bottom dead zones. AI UGC adds extra rows: lip-sync drift, name/pronunciation of the product, on-screen text still in the source language after a localisation, and a disclosure line if the person is not a real customer. Watching at 1× on a desktop with sound on will not catch mute-first captions or a CTA sitting under TikTok’s buttons. QA on a phone, muted first, then with sound.
How to run the list in one pass
Owner, one sitting, payload then file then page. Payload QA can be done from the generator’s parsed fields before you spend a render. File QA is a phone pass plus a spec overlay. Page QA is cellular, not office wifi, with the exact click URL. Anything red on price, inventory, claims, or tracking is a no-go even if the cut is funny. Klip Kanvas is the URL-to-ad path this list is built around — still run the rows. A green generator is not a green launch.
6 pass/fail gates inside: scrape/payload fidelity (8), claims & offer match (8), image/B-roll use (6), avatar/voice/disclosure (7), file spec & captions (8), landing page & go-live (8) — each row is Pass if · Fail if.
